About George
Hi my name is George and I am a recent Graduate from Leeds Conservatoire. I studied Classical performance on French Horn and I now continuing my studies towards a Masters of Arts.
About Me:
I am a Brass specialist, achieving Grade 8 on both French Horn and Trumpet as well as having a wide knowledge of the Brass Familly, Piano, theory and composition. I am a new tutor but my combined knowledge stems from years of tuition, courses and specialist study on teaching and my openness to incorporate modern styles and technology within lessons.
Lessons: I am open for teaching a negotiable length for each lesson, this can be between 15 mins to 1 hour sessions as different levels and situations call on different times. I would recommend 15-30 mins for beginners and 30 minutes to an hour for more experienced students.
1-2-1 lessons can be daunting at first so establishing a connection is most important for learning.
First Lesson: My first with every student will be about exploring their current music understanding, making some noise and repeating musical phrases whether sung, played or clapped. The most important aspect will be discussing with the students at the end whether they enjoyed the lesson, any questions they might have and playing a memory game to learn basic theory.
Experiences: I have taught music lessons for several years in different capacities, from specialist study at the Conservatoire, leading groups at county wind orchestras and my current tuition.
I have a BA in Classical Performance from Leeds Conservatoire, as well as Grade 8 in Horn and Trumpet, A levels in History, Music and Film.
I have played in all types of Orchestras with one of my most recent performance playing at the Leeds Grand Theatre performing Le Roi Malgre with the Opera North Youth Orchestra and Youth Chorus.
