About Freya Astrella
Freya will give you the knowledge and skills to master your unique voice, whether you're a nervous beginner or a polished professional! You will learn cutting-edge vocal techniques, and you'll develop confidence and artistic expression - a powerful combination for contemporary singers of all styles and abilities.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
Freya is a true vocal technique expert - and is one of the only teachers in the region who is a Certified Estill Voice Trainer. In addition to her basic Estill Levels 1 and 2, she gained her Certificate of Proficiency and completed advanced courses with world-leading Estill trainers in Belting, Diction, Acoustic Science, Tongue Tension, Breathing, as well as Estill for Singing Teachers.
Freya also holds a First Class BA(Hons) in Professional Musicianship from BIMM, a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), and a Professional Diploma in Vocal Performance from VocalTech.
*EXPERIENCE*
As a teacher, Freya has taught for several organisations, including BIMM London, Access To Music, The Academy of Music And Sound, TheatreTrain, Stagecoach Theatre Arts, and The Rock Project. She has also taught all ages and abilities in her private practice for 15 years.
As a performer, Freya has accumulated hundreds of stage and studio hours. From top-tier corporate functions in London’s most iconic venues to recording with internationally charting songwriters. More recently, she released an original EP in Spring 2023, with several collaborations in the pipeline, plus, she is working on a vocal sample pack.
As a wordsmith, Freya was the lead writer for VoiceCouncil.com, the biggest international website for singers. During this time, she interviewed and collaborated with an endless array of renowned performers, authors, educators, and scientists. And in the past year, Freya has released an online course and e-book, delving into vocal technique.
*VOCAL COACHING*
Freya offers 121 vocal coaching sessions in Seaford and Eastbourne in East Sussex, most evenings and weekends. With an enhanced DBS certificate, Freya teaches students aged 14 and up.
