About Freya
Freya is a thoughtful and passionate Cello teacher who believes music education is about enjoyment and enabling the learner to express themselves.
I have a friendly and warm approach to my teaching and makes sure the learner is well set up technically and able to be creative and expressive. I am versatile across a wide range of styles and genres, but I specialise in classical and folk music - especially of Scottish and Scandanavian origin.
Instrument:
You would need to provide your own Cello. I can offer advice on good options for renting/buying.
Practice:
I am happy to provide practice notes after each lesson.

Freya gained her Bachelors performance degree from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Whilst studying she did her London College of Music teaching diploma. Freya has worked for 'The Benedetti Foundation' as a lead ambassador and been a peer mentor for the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland. As well as this, she is currently teaching for 'Music Masters' in London after gaining her PGCEi with them in Cello teaching.
Notable performance experiences include side by side projects with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. I also enjoy pop music and has enjoyed performing with Emeli Sande and Natasha Bedingfield.
