About Fiona B.
Fiona is a professional French horn player and brass tutor based in Manchester. She has worked with orchestras all around the UK and Europe including BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Hallé Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, Welsh National Opera, Birmingham Opera Company, London Symphonic Rock Orchestra and Thursford Christmas Spectacular.
With a passion for youth music and worldwide education, Fiona is currently Head of Pastoral Staff and Administrator for the Benedetti Foundation. She has worked at the National Children's Orchestras of Great Britain as social staff since 2014 and has been a French horn mentor for 'NCOnline'. She also assists the Wirral Youth Brass band as a Tenor/French horn tutor.
In 2017, Fiona worked at Wells Cathedral School as a Graduate Music Assistant where she led brass ensembles, French horn sectionals and p-brass classes for beginner trumpets and trombones.
Fiona was also a Music volunteer in Ghana with AGAPE Volunteers in 2017. She and two friends fundraised to get themselves to Africa to teach Music and English at JayNii Streetwise Foundation.
Fiona is experienced in teaching adults and children for both grade-focused brass lessons or just learning music for fun!
