Lessons
As a teacher, Evan focuses on providing a student tools to become a better musician, not just learn various songs note for note. There is an emphasis on how to learn songs by ear and from a score. This is to provide students with the skills to learn what song they please without a teacher present. Evan focuses strongly on technique as technique is the vehicle for musicality. Without a strong foundation in technique, the instrument will always seem like an endless struggle. Evan's classical training at one of the top performance schools in the world means you get shown world class technical training without the steep tuition.
Lastly, Evan is a strong advocate of teaching a student the rudiments of harmony and general music theory. This is a necessary study that aids one's creativity on the instrument.
