About Erika Zeckser Owen
"The most fascinating challenge for me is finding a style of teaching that is individual for each student and the way they learn. My goal is to make Music fun by singing, dancing, clapping or even creating stories out of the musical pieces, bringing it all to life for the student."
Erika Zeckser Owen has earned both Bachelors of Music Degree from Northwestern State Univeristy (1997) and Masters of Music Degree at Indiana University (2001) in Viola Performance.
Erika started learning the Violin via the Suzuki method herself at the age of 8 years old and later switched to Viola, 10 years later. Erika manages a small studio whereby she teaches both from home either in person or online. She can teach anyone from the age of 4 thru adult, both beginners and advanced; especially those who may have played in a previous life and would like to return to music.
Fully compliant with DBS checks, Erika is an accommodating teacher who is willing to guide her students in the direction they wish; including entrance to ABRSM or internet searches of music that inspires the individual. With her wealth of life experiences, Erika teaches in a way that encompasses all of life's comparisons to the world of arts.
