About Emily
Hello!
TRIAL LESSON
I offer 30 minute trial lessons for £10 where you can ask any questions you may have, explore what you would like from music lessons and it is an opportunity for us to get to know each other.
ABOUT ME
I am an established cello, piano and singing teacher with new availability to take on additional students. I currently teach pupils ranging from 4 years old to adults enjoying their retirement.
Alongside my private practice, I am a peripatetic teacher for a local authority in various settings, including state primary and secondary schools, as well as in private/independent settings for the past three years. I have experience of working with young people and adults with additional needs and various learning methods and styles.
My experience as a musician also covers a diversity of paid roles in which I have worked as a composer and performer in recording studios, as well as wedding quartets/bands, orchestras and actor musician theatre productions.
I am also a trained actor musician and this flows into my teaching. As well as ensuring your technique and theory knowledge is strong, I feel passionate about musicality remaining alive throughout the lessons too.
I regularly seek feedback from my students to ensure they are enjoying what they’re playing and contributing to their own learning plans. I’m not a teacher that is wedded to anchoring a student’s learning to classical musical pieces and I believe it is vital to work with my students to create tailored lessons that develop technical expertise as well as meeting your musical ambitions.
LESSON CONTENT

- Theory
- Scales, technical exercises and pieces
