Emily has been a wonderful teacher and exceeded even my most optimistic expectations. I have always been very insecure about singing, following a few childhood experiences where public singing led to shame and embarrassment, to the point that I had extreme anxiety at the prospect of Christmas carol singing with my family or karaoke with friends. When I contacted Emily I just asked that she help me sing 'less bad' but she did so much more than that - I am now so much more confident about singing, both by myself and in front of others. I ENJOY singing now, and all of that insecurity and anxiety is gone. It sounds like a terrible cliche but it's true, I have now found my voice. Emily was kind, understanding, supportive and very patient with me. She gave lots of positive reinforcement and never made me feel like I was being silly when I struggled. Emily is such a kind, friendly, knowledgeable and amazing teacher. I am not a very confident singer, but she made me feel so safe and comfortable from our first lesson. She is extremely encouraging and each lesson I can see improvements in the quality of my voice. Emily also knows so much about technique and how to use it to better students voices. She makes sure she tailors the lessons for you and your goals - making them even more enjoyable.

I've really enjoyed my singing lessons with Emily - she is my first singing teacher and creates a wonderful environment. This was especially useful since I wasn't used to singing in front of people.
