About Emily H.
Emily is an energetic and enthusiastic music leader, her passion for music has been called contagious.
Emily believes it’s every young persons' right to access music making provision & is a strong advocate for greater accessibility & inclusivity in the music making world.
Emily is a professional singer songwriter, working in bands performing for audiences across the South West and releasing music on her record label Random Fish Records. She sings and plays guitar, bass, accordion, and keyboard. Her band The Dilly Boys tour regularly around the South West and nationally.
She has 12 years experience working with children and young people in community and school settings, helping them to write their own songs and teaching healthy vocal techniques and instrument skills.
She trained with WREN music studying community music making, international folk traditional and delivering music provision from primary schools to care homes in rural contexts. With WREN she completed the Community Music Educator qualification (CME.)
With D.A.I.S.I she was one of the inaugural Music Leaders trainees where she worked with SPACE to develop her practice in youth centre settings and gain experience working with young adults with additional needs.
She has worked widely across the region developing music making opportunities with a range of organisations including Play Torbay, Doorstep Arts, Youth Music, MIDI.
As the recipient of one of D.A.I.S.I’s Music Leader Covid-19 Bursary recipients was commissioned to explore further the possibilities for peripatetic music making in a post Covid19 context.
Currently Emily is delivering one to one tuition for vocals, guitar and keyboard, and running Mobile Music Hub group sessions.
