About Ema

Hello!

A quick bit about me: I am a Czech/Australian freelance opera singer and teacher. Originally hailing from sunny Perth, Western Australia, I have been based in the UK since 2019, first in Manchester and now London. I originally made the move to complete my Masters, but fell in love with this side of the world.

Of course, I love all things music. But when not enjoying a concert, teaching, or performing, I spend my time haunting art galleries, going to the theatre, watching a movie or true crime series, reading, cooking, crocheting and knitting, or exploring!

LESSONS & WHAT TO EXPECT:

My greatest passion with teaching is helping students find their voice through music and watching them grow along the way. My teaching has a classical basis as I believe this paves the way for singing in any style, but lessons are tailored to the needs and interests of each individual student.

In my 15+ years of training, experience and teaching (dance and voice), I've enjoyed working with students ranging in experience and age from complete beginner adults & children, to seasoned performers preparing for auditions and exams. Lessons are available as 30 & 45 minutes, depending on the students level and needs. And I have an introductory rate for a 20 minute session, for those of you wanting to have a sample first.

Currently, I am only offering online lessons as I am in the midst of moving house and my schedule has me in and out of town quite a bit. But when things are settled, I do offer lessons at my home studio in South East London.

In lessons we will cover:
- vocal care
- breath and vocal technique
- music reading and theory
- musical interpretation and performance
- and of course we'll work together on repertoire you enjoy. Because above all things, making music should be fun!

I also offers Music Theory tuition and performance and language coaching (Czech, German, French & Italian) for those who may not be looking for regular lessons, but are wanting some guidance on repertoire, performance, or to improve their musical understanding.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, or you have any questions, please get in touch.
I look forward to hearing from you!
