I would highly recommend Ed's tuition. My son is 11 and started bass guitar lessons with Ed in October 2023 as he wasn't progressing much with at-school lessons. Since then he has come on leaps and bounds. He really enjoys lessons with Ed, feels safe and comfortable to ask questions, and is being suitably challenged. He appreciates that Ed is a bass guitar teacher rather than a guitar teacher just teaching bass, which makes a big difference in terms of technique. I'm delighted to see my son enjoying his musical instrument so much, I never have to nag him to practice, he just plays every day because he loves it. So many thanks to Ed for nurturing his talent and long may it continue.

I have beem having lessons with Ed for 3 months now and have no intention of stopping anytime soon. Ed is a fantastic bass teacher. He absolutely loves the bass and the passion he feels for the instrument instills confidence in you as well. But passion alone is not enough; you have to be a great teacher as well in regards to building rapport, creating lessons which are enjoyable and be able to communicate goals and targets all the while giving feedback and making your students feel happy in themselves. One of the first questions Ed ever asked me was what kind of music I wanted to play. Once I sent him a shorlist he went to work and has been building lessons around my music tastes. Sometimes he will also notice an area that needs work and focus on that. Honestly, Ed does all this! He wants you to be happy, he wants you to succeed. Just watching you learn makes him feel proud in what he does because he is helping to create another bass player out there and let's face it we need more of them! Get in touch with Ed. You will not be disappointed. I only encourage you to be clear in what you want because with that input he will do the rest. Remember, they are your lessons so think about why you want to learn the bass and which music styles/ players interest you. From there Ed will take you on your own personalised learning journey. Sure, it can change along the way but you need a base to learn the bass.

Ed’s been great. Friendly, flexible and knowledgeable, he’s been an inspirational teacher. He’s helped bring the prog out of me, while assisting with my post-metal bass lines. Highly recommended.
