About Dunya Habash
Dunya is a classically trained pianist who recently finished her PhD in ethnomusicology at the Faculty of Music, University of Cambridge. She has a passion for teaching music, especially piano. She started private piano teaching in 2013 during her time as a university student when she tutored several students ages 8 to 14. Ever since, she has been teaching students from a variety of levels. She is happy to work with students at any level, those just beginning as well as those with several years of experience looking for a committed, passionate, and energetic piano teacher. Dunya believes in building strong relationships with students to boost confidence and to help make their journey with the piano more personal. Every music student has their own learning pace, and the teaching environment should reflect this to help sustain interest and encouragement. By spending time to understand how each student responds to different types of teaching styles, Dunya is able to find the best approach for her students. This has contributed to her success as a teacher over the years. In fact, she is still in touch with most of her students!
Dunya is based in Trumpington (CB2) and prefers for students to come to her home. However, she is happy to come to students' homes if based in Trumpington or central Cambridge.
