I was fortunate to study under Tanya whilst a student at Edinburgh University, during which I received the highest mark in the United Kingdom for ABRSM Grade 8 piano and obtained first-class honours. Tanya has an extremely patient and encouraging nature which, coupled with her prowess as a performer, ensured that every lesson was enjoyable and worthwhile. She is a dedicated teacher and I will be forever grateful for her willingness to answer a call to discuss piano matters or have a quick chat!

After being a student of Tanya's for three years alongside university, I can confidently say I've never had a better teacher. Tanya is kind, professional and tailors lessons towards your goals. She teaches to an excellent standard and as well as being an amazing teacher, she’s also extremely caring and I can turn to her with any personal issues. I have known Dr Tanya Ekanayaka for four years whilst taking my undergraduate music degree at the University of Edinburgh where she has taught me composition and has been teaching me piano since.
