About Geraint
A professional musician for over 40 years playing with artists such as Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, George Michael, Van Morrison, to name but a few.
TEACHING
Geraint has been teaching for approximately 35 years and is highly experienced. He teaches all levels from Beginners to Degree/Advanced level and welcomes people of all ages and abilities. Geraint is highly experienced with various examining bodies such as ABRSM, Trinity and Rock School.
Geraint has taught/lectured at Christ's College Cambridge, Brunel University, Thames Valley University, The Bass School in London, The Academy of Contemporary Music, Music In Offices and has completed lecture tours of the USA at many universities.
He specialises in various genres including classical, jazz, funk, soul, country and rock etc.
Geraint tailors each lesson to suit the individual student and has a relaxed, patient and friendly style.
He also focuses on technique, posture, and correct breathing exercises.
Geraint has his own Public Liability insurance.
ABOUT GERAINT
Geraint began his formal musical career at the age of six years. I attended Grammar school, Christ's College Cambridge where I achieved a BMus [hons] and subsequently achieved a Doctorate in Music [DMus], also from Christ's College, Cambridge.
Geraint has played for various orchestras worldwide including the London Symphony, Boston Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Concert Orchestra, Czech Symphony, etc.
Geraint has performed in over 30 West End Shows including Les Miserables, Cats, Little Shop Of Horrors, Miss Saigon and also Riverdance on Broadway, New York.
Geraint has performed on, written and orchestrated various major film scores and television themes in the UK, Europe and USA.
Geraint played at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in London 2012 and the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in 1988.
Geraint has his own recording/teaching studio running Logic Pro and Sibelius programmes.
