About Douglas A.
I have a huge amount of guitar teaching experience up to college level and have taught and have qualifications in electric, classical and flamenco guitar.
I studied flamenco guitar in Spain for four years (ok I got a bit carried away) and took three advanced courses at the Carmen de las Cuevas school in Granada.
I also worked as a professional guitarist in Asturias, Spain, playing widely as an accompanist, soloist and being a featured soloist with the Oviedo symphonic.
I took an electric guitar course at the guitar Institute in London in 1991.
I would say that my main field is Spanish guitar but I have also taught many pop and rock guitar.
My lessons include reading either standard notation or tablature, depending on the students direction
Either classical finger style or plectrum techniques.
Understanding scales, (major scale and modes as well as pentatonic) and arpeggios.
Explanation of chords and chord progressions.
Repertoire for classical and flamenco guitar from beginner to advanced.
