About Daya

I offer tailored violin lessons for students of all levels and ages, whether you're just starting out or working towards an exam or performance. I use a mix of pedagogical approaches to suit each student individually, combining structure with creativity. Lessons are designed to support you in building strong technique and confidence, while also developing your own musical voice.

I teach violin as my primary instrument, but also offer tuition in music theory and viola. I’m happy to support students interested in solo playing, ensemble work, or music theory alongside instrumental lessons.

Our first lesson is a relaxed and open space where we explore your musical goals and current experience. I’ll assess your level and learning style, and we’ll begin to build a lesson plan that’s just right for you, whether that means working on tone, technique, or simply learning your favourite piece.

I’m a professional violinist and music graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. With performance experience ranging from Baroque and Classical to Pop, Folk, and Musical Theatre, I bring a broad musical perspective into my teaching.
Music is an expressive art form, and everything I teach is aimed at helping you express yourself through music. I adapt my teaching style to suit your needs, drawing from a range of methods to support your development both technically and creatively.

Since 2020, I’ve taught private students one-to-one, preparing them for graded exams, performances, or simply playing for enjoyment. I’ve also worked with Cardiff and Vale Music Service, leading whole-class string workshops in primary schools and coaching in youth orchestras, helping students improve both individual skills and ensemble playing.

I teach in-person in South East London and online. Whether you prefer lessons from the comfort of home or face-to-face, we can find a setup that works for you.
