I went to a lesson with David about six months ago and originally drafted this review at the time, but I was hesitant to post it until now. David may be knowledgeable about the guitar, but my lesson experience was frustrating and left me feeling discouraged. I received almost no positive feedback, and there was a strong emphasis on how the songs I had been learning with my previous teacher were too difficult for me. He insisted on learning from graded textbooks and set goals for me without asking for my input or considering my learning preferences, which made me feel that my autonomy as a learner was not respected. Some of the comments made while correcting my technique felt like unnecessary personal remarks. I raised this at the time, but I felt met with defensiveness rather than reflection. This was disappointing because his profile suggested he welcomed students with different learning styles and needs, but the lesson itself felt quite rigid compared to what I was looking for. Fortunately, I have since found a very supportive teacher who values the relational side of teaching. The experience with David ultimately helped me understand what kind of teaching style best supports my learning.

Dave,Really great guy,patient knowledgeable easy to get along with, I really enjoy my lessons as he always always has a smile on his face even when I’m trying to express myself !! at the same point slows me where I’m going wrong, always plenty of laughter with his teaching & very enthusiastic & a proper professional, has a nice way about teaching, would recommend as u won’t b disappointed..👍👏

Highly recommend David. My son is doing so well under his guidance. He’s patient and friendly. My son who doesn’t do well meeting new people took to him straight away.

Excellent guitar teacher. My 11 year old son has made lots of progress in his electric guitar since having David as his tutor. David has a great manner when he is teaching- very patient. I would wholeheartedly recommend him.

David is an excellent teacher who is kind and patient. He has been teaching my eight year old daughter and she speaks highly of him and looks forward to her lessons. I think he does a fantastic job of connecting with his student and making the process of learning fun. Highly recommended!

I have known David since he was a first-year student and saw him become a trusted and valued colleague. His knowledge is multi-faceted and he is valued in his supporting role as someone who "translates" music studies for students with spLD - helping them to become the best musicians that they can be. He is organised and personable and has a high empathy rating in combination with good musical knowledge. He'll be a superb teacher.

He goes above and beyond to make lessons fun, interesting. I am visually Imapred and every lesson was adapted to suite my needs. He is kind, patient and very calm in stressful situations. I have a heart condition where I can faint, he dealt with this professionally and in a caring manner. He is very punctual and if for any reason you can't attend a lesson, he will try to rearrange the lesson. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher.
