Dave has been teaching private one on one guitar lessons for over 15 years, and no matter what level from complete beginner or even to an advanced level, Dave´s light hearted approach has helped to mentor students from all over the world.
Dave believes that music is for everyone and developing the ability to perform and create it is a wonderful experience that everyone should have access to.

So at a beginners level, what does your first lesson look like....?

In your very first lesson Dave will begin with a nice and easy conversation about particular music you enjoy listening to, and maybe what you aspire to one day be able to play.
Following that, topics such as -How to hold guitar
-Gripping the plectrum
-Tuning the guitar
-Basic Chords
-One simple melody from a recognisable song

If you are at an intermediate stage already and maybe feel like you´ve hit a bit of wall, then Dave can help. This would begin firstly with a short consultation to gain an understanding of your knowledge of the instrument so far, then lessons would be tailored to your current needs.

Dave´s Speciality is within the Classic Rock & Blues genres. However being a full time professional musician and coming equipped with a BA Honours Degree from the British Institute of Modern Music, Dave has many different genres in his arsenal.

Currently Dave is able to teach you from your own home. Based in the Tewkesbury area, he is happy to travel to you. But soon enough, online lessons will also be made available.

Dave´s teaching style helps to simplify the music and break it down into small bitesize pieces. This removes that overwhelming feeling when attempting to learn a new piece of music that you find challenging, and replaces it with a feeling of joy and self belief.
