SONGWRITING
Are you looking to take your songwriting and production to the next level? Are you always stuck for fresh inspiration in your writing and production skills? Together we can explore how to structure and arrange a song, how to orchestrate, how we can build up your compositions and how to approach songwriting in different ways to bring out 1000s of new creative possibilities in your writing and how you can use your DAW to capture these ideas.

MIXING AS THE AUDIO ENGINEER
Dave can show you how to capture your songs using your DAW, how to edit and shape your mixes using both Audio and MIDI instruments. He can help also show you approaches of how to bring out the right balance in your mixes using various tools within your DAW ready for the mastering stage

MASTERING
The final icing on the cake. Dave shows you the dark art of mastering your mixes ready for release. He can show you how making fine adjustments to the mix will add subtle warmth making sure every instruments sits well in the mix.

SOUND DESIGN
Have you ever wondered how sound is shaped and designed from everyday sounds? Just imagine taking an everyday sound such as closing a book, tractor sounds, extractor fans or the simple hitting wind chimes and transforming them into an unique texture or a one stop sample, that can be used to enhance or create new songwriting ideas.

ANALOGUE SETUP IN A DAW

Have you ever wondered how to set up an analogue environment in your DAW? Not everyone has access to Abbey Road analogue recording but we can re-create the warm analogue sound in our mixes using our DAW and Dave can help you through this process of setting this up.

TEACHING APPROACH - GUITAR AND BASS GUITAR
Dave has a wealth of teaching experience having been a private guitar and Bass Guitar teacher to all ages and abilities for the last 20 years. He also lead music workshops teaching guitar and songwriting across Cheshire. Dave’s aim is to give the students the performance skills and technique to perform at the highest level and he encourages pupils to practice regularly to achieve the full potential.

Dave approaches Guitar and Bass guitar lessons in different ways depending on your aims. He can teach pop, rock, acoustic, country, classical and folk styles as well as music theory all online using the classical, acoustic or Bass Guitar Whether its preparing you for exams, developing an new technique or learning new songs, Dave can tailor each lesson making sure you always get the most from your online lesson in an fun and inspiring way.

EXAM SYLLABUS<,b>
Dave can prepare students for Guitar exams with Rockschool Acoustic Guitar and ABRSM syllabus. He also has an enhanced DBS certificate so you know you’re always in safe hands.

MODERN STYLES
Some students prefer to learn in a more modern style so I use music charts to develop their improvisation skills while other students would like to learn new techniques and classical style of playing using notation. I always ensure students choose the route they are most suited to pursuing.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Dave has performed professionally on cruise ships worldwide since 2016. backing guest entertainers as well as performing as a solo artist. He is also an experienced private guitar/bass teacher and teaches music workshops in songwriting throughout Cheshire.
