About Dan

Dan is a Music graduate of Oxford and the RNCM, offering private piano lessons, tutoring for GCSE, A Level, ABRSM Theory, and university interview preparation. He plays the piano, organ, and bassoon, and has both classroom and 1:1 teaching experience.

Tutoring Experience
After graduating from Oxford, Dan worked as a classroom teacher and school accompanist, delivering 1:1 support for GCSE and IB students, particularly in extended writing, analysis, and composition. Ever since he has taught countless piano students, of varying experience, who have gone on to find success in exams and performances. After teaching, he led university admissions and recruitment at both Oxford and Oxford Brookes, supporting students with applications and interview prep.

Tutoring Approach
Most students come have a specific area they’d like help with – he works with you to build a focused plan. Students have been coached in music history, analysis, compositional techniques, orchestration, and he can offer guidance in harmony and counterpoint.
