About Colin: Piano , Keyboard

Want to try something new? Learn piano in Bristol.

I am able to teach children as well as adults up to Grade 5 ( ABRSM ) in classical piano as well as teaching all styles from pop through to classical and jazz.

I am able to teach online as well as in person, depending on what you are comfortable with. I am also prepared to travel to your house as long as it's a reasonable distance .

Learning the piano is fun and I am able to develop whatever type of music the pupil is interested in learning whether it is classical grades , jazz , fun pop pieces. or pieces from gaming such as Super Mario.

For children I can set up a motivational reward scheme for when they have achieved a certain level of piano practice time and when they have achieved a few pieces that they have been learning.

I have over 25 years of teaching and performing experience. I have coached students through their grades with a 100% pass rate. I have also encouraged students in developing their aural skills as well as their music and sight reading abilities.

I have taught students how to play jazz and pop music - helping to develop chord structures and composition ideas. This also includes helping them with their theory skills.

I have coached advanced players who wish to play at functions and solo performances. This would also include students who wished to accompany singers and play in bands.

I have accompanied singers and instrumentalists for exams, auditions and concerts.

I am familiar with working with young people and have been a music teaching assistant in a secondary school, working with Yr 7- 11 students, and also Music GCSE students.

I very much look forward to hearing from you and being part of your musical journey
