About Clare
I have a love for music and a passion for sharing this with students. I have taught people from all walks of life (children and adults) and take an adaptive approach to teaching.
I love to teach music theory, incorporating lots of singing into lessons. I encourage my students to listen to a wide range of music and often show them musical performances that relate to their current studies. I hope to instil a well rounded musical understanding in my students which will strengthen their piano skills, as well as any other instrument they may wish to pursue.
I follow the ARSM grade system and have a 100% pass rate (including grade 5 theory). I currently teach grades 1 - 5. I encourage students to take grades as it gives them experience with performing but I ultimately leave this optional. I understand exams come with exam stress and like to deal with this head on! Finally, I try as best as I can to make every lesson fun and exciting for my students even when covering the “boring” but necessary bits such as scales!
