About Chris K.
Chris can offer lessons on guitar - classical, acoustic, electric, bass and ukulele; Music theory and composition; Piano/keyboard for beginners. He can mostly go to pupils, but they can come to him too.
His main areas are Kingston, Norbiton, New Malden, Surbiton, Berrylands, Tolworth, Raynes Park, Chessington.
He is calm and patient, friendly and encouraging, and likes to introduce people to music that they might not otherwise get a chance to hear, to help broaden their musical awareness, and hopefully spark some creativity. Pupils can also look into making their own tunes, and learning music theory, if they are interested.
He has 27 years playing experience, and 12 years teaching. He has taught people of all ages from 3 to people in their 70s. He is happy to teach for fun, or to take grades, and discusses what the pupil might be looking for, before then suggesting material to work from, and making sure his pupil is happy, choosing the path that seems most appealing to them.
Chris teaches Rock School, RGT, Trinity College, ABRSM, and also helps with GCSE, and A Level.
He is available mornings and afternoons, not just evenings.
Most pupils are after school/work, but there are some slots available, so do please enquire still.
Currrently not available weekends.
Chris has a degree in Music Composition with a 2:1 BMus(Hons) from Kingston University.
Pupils who practice a few times a week or more, between lessons, really notice the benefits in the progress they make. Daily practice of 15-30 minutes is best, to see good results, but of course this isn't always possible with a busy schedule.
Cancellation charge - if cancelling within 48 hours, you will still have to pay for the lesson.
