About Carlota
Hi! I welcome students from any age and level to work with me and I taylor the lessons to their interests and needs.
I studied pedagogy with Dr. Brenda Brenner and Mimi Zweig at the Jacobs School of Music in Indiana University, where I graduated with Honors thanks to my research project about the Kreutzer Etudes, fundamental in all violin and viola teaching.
I have extensive experience through programs like the Fairview Project (Bloomington, USA), Tunaweza Kimuziki (Nakuru, Kenya), Corazón Alegre (Loma de Cabrera, Dominican Republic), programs for students from low-income families and challenging environments.
I aim to create a safe and fun learning space, focusing on tension-free technique and developing a beautiful sound from early on. Lessons can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes long and I offer the first lesson for free to see if we would be a good fit!
