About Cameron Ward

Cameron Ward is a professional piano and keyboard specialist based in London, UK, with extensive performance, writing and teaching experience.

In 2016, Cameron began his studies at Leeds conservatoire on the jazz performance course under Jamil Sheriff. During his time in Leeds, Cameron studied under some of the UKs most prominent jazz figureheads, including Tom Cawley and Dave Newton. Since graduating from Leeds conservatoire Cameron has built a successful performing, writing, and producing portfolio. Some notable collaborations include soul artist August Charles and world-renowned installation artist Christian Marclay. Cameron performs across a multitude of genres and styles including pop, jazz and classical to name a few. Since relocating to London Cameron has continued to perform at various notable venues such as, Royal Festival Hall (as part of EFG London Jazz Festival), Servant Jazz Quarters and St Pancras Old Church.

LESSONS WITH CAMERON
Cameron teaches piano to students of all ages, beginners to advanced.

Lessons with Cameron include:
Piano Technique - with exercises to build a strong foundation for your playing.
Reading - guidance to help you read music including chord charts and developing fluid sight reading skills.
Guidance for practice – everyone learns differently and Cameron understands this and can help you figure out a practice plan that works for you.
Confidence Exercises – performing in front of people can be nerve wracking, but there are many ways to manage and overcome this.
Improvisation – Cameron specialises in improvisation and well use his extensive performance experience to help you express yourself through improvisation.
Music Theory – a theoretical understanding of music can be a great way to develop your playing, composing, and improvising.

Cameron teaches all genres, but specialises in Traditional and Contemporary Jazz, Pop and Classical.

FIRST LESSON

The first lesson will begin with an informal chat allowing you to both get to know each other and identifying what you would like to work on. Whether that is working towards graded examinations or just a fun hobby, Cameron will help you to reach your full potential in a fun and supportive environment.
