Hello, I’m Callum - thanks for reading my profile!
I’ve been playing the piano since the age of four and love teaching and inspiring others to play this wonderful instrument. I studied piano at the Royal Academy of Music and in my final year was awarded the Chappell Gold Medal for piano recital.
I have been lucky enough to have enjoyed working as a musician in all aspects of the music industry including TV, Radio and Live Concerts working with many renowned artists. I have worked on many West End shows including The Phantom Of The Opera and have been Musical Director for the Michael Ball and Alfie Boe UK Arena tours and recently featured on Radio 2's Piano Room playing for Michael Ball and leading the BBC Concert Orchestra. I also conducted Michael's BBC Prom at the Royal Albert Hall.
I am a friendly and patient teacher and through my experience have a lot of knowledge to share with students of differing ages and abilities. I firmly believe that the benefits of learning the piano can be enjoyed at any stage whether your goal is to play Chopsticks or Chopin! I am happy teaching any style of music, lessons can cover classical, jazz or pop, tailored to the students interests and abilities.
Learning the piano can be beneficial in many perhaps unexpected ways - it is proven to sharpen your concentration, improve your memory, boost your confidence, decrease stress and anxiety as well as increasing your physical hand strength and dexterity! My experience with adult beginners is that in all cases students are amazed at how quickly they are playing one of their favourite melodies!
