About Bret McDonald
Bret is a professional latin, blues, contemporary acoustic guitar teacher and performer with over 25 years experience in the music industry, and has performed and recorded across the UK, Europe and America. Following his passion for music from a young age, Bret studied music and the arts at university and went on to train as a college lecturer. During this time he worked across the Northwest teaching Btec performing arts with emphasis on enhancing solo, and ensemble instrumental performance.
Bret is keen to share his passion for learning a new instrument and has an emphasis on working with people of all ages who are new to this wonderful and diverse instrument. As your teacher, he will guide you carefully through basic and intermediate song structure, rhythm theory, chords and ear training, using a range of accessible materials that suit your learning styles and goals.
Being able to play along to your favourite songs or put together your very own song is a wonderful feeling, and with the correct guidance and inspiration, can be an achievable and realistic ambition for anyone.
Bret can work with you 1 to 1 online, or in person from his teaching space at home in Chorley, Lancashire.
