About Bethany
Music lessons should aim to be fun interactive and efficient. The lessons she aims to give will be in line with this and particularly geared towards beginners or intermediate learners, with technique and fundamentals included from her conservatory background. She is TEFL qualified a believes that the student experience in learning is ever important- ever feel like school lessons were 90% teacher talking and little student contribution? If you’d like to see music lessons take a step forward from this, I am one of the teachers for you.
About the teacher
Bethany has degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She has also been taught at the Royal Academy of Music, where she played under John Adams and Steven Wick to name some of the best experiences. She has 18 years of brass playing experience.
She’s open to various styles such as jazz and classical/orchestral. She has played with the young musicians London Sinfonietta 2021 and has skills in the contemporary repertoire if this interests you.
Your lesson
Open to lessons at her home, at yours or online. Please bring your own instrument to the lessons, or speak to her if you need advice with this or an alternative adjustment for the lessons. Please have a notepad or Manuscript paper and pencil. Your first lesson will include a discussion on what brings you to your instrument and if you’ve any previous experience with music- this could be anything musical! We will work through the fundamentals of brass playing, how to hold your instrument and what you want to get from your lessons in the future. She is familiar with various brass pedagogy’s such as Stamp methods, Arban, Vizzuti and Clark techniques.
Affordability and inclusivity is valued, please speak to her for what might help your circumstances with the lessons.
