Ben is a Film Composer, Artist and a Classical/ Jazz Musician with over 7 years full time experience teaching all ages and abilities, from young pupils to advanced students. Ben studied at City University, London for his Masters degree in Composing for Moving Images and a Bachelors degree in Music from Canterbury Christchurch University.
As a composer Ben has written music for brands such as Land Rover, the UK Intelligence Services and has scored The Consultant Feature film which is available to watch on Amazon Prime. He currently has over 460,000 streams with his music on Spotify which he worked with the Northern Film Orchestra under his name Benjamin Cook which you can listen to on all major streaming platforms.
Ben teaches all of his lessons from Mondays to Fridays.
Beginners
For beginners, all you need to do is bring yourself and not worry about anything else! Ben will explain the basics, work on some simple exercises in class, and set a simple task for next lesson.
First Lesson
Your first lesson will be an opportunity for you to get to know Ben, explain any areas where you are struggling, assess your goals and aspirations, and create a plan to help you achieve them. If you are a classical musician who would like to learn Jazz but not sure where to start? Then Ben is the perfect teacher for you. Ben was originally a Classical musician but developed his Jazz Piano so he now plays both. He can help you make the transition and develop your playing into improvisation, Jazz theory and confidence playing the piano without sheet music.

He mainly teaches from the ABSRM and Trinity syllabuses with an astounding pass rate.
