Barry is an excellent teacher. He is very kind and says all the right things to elevate your playing standard whilst continuing to give you confidence in your own playing. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of and about core pieces and is able to teach the minute changes in technique that can lead to big changes in your playing. I have returned to the oboe after 40 years and recently taken up cor anglais. I have improved more than I could have wished for with Barry’s help.

Barry has been a brilliant teacher. He’s very patient and also very creative and adaptable in his teaching techniques. If I don’t get it one way he generally has a back up approach or two we can apply. I’ve enjoyed every minute!
