About Ashley

Ashley is an 26 year old bassist with over 12 years experience. Falling in love with bass players like Flea, John Entwistle and Pino Palladino at an early age, he quickly joined as many bands as would take him and before his first year of playing was up, he was gigging often, playing a wide variety of genres. After a few years of gigging around Somerset and Bristol, he moved to Manchester to study at the acclaimed Royal Northern College of Music, where he honed his craft further and continued developing his uniquely engaging and virtuosic style. Now having played venues in Europe like the Palau de la Música Catalina, headlined at the O2 Ritz Academy in Manchester and played festivals across England, he's eager to pass on his knowledge and play an important role in your bass-playing development!

What can you expect from a lesson with Ashley? Passion for starters! He loves helping people find their individual voice within music, and will go above and beyond to help you achieve the goals you have for your musical journey. A comfortable, low stress environment for second! He doesn't subscribe to the 'Whiplash' approach, instead believing students thrive through encouragement and support. Third, a uniquely designed learning experience tailored for you! Love metal? Then that's what he'll teach you. Inspired by Esperanza Spalding? Then he'll be breaking down her style of playing in a way that you can incorporate into your own playing. Bring him your favourite artists, your favourite genres, your favourite bassists, and he will place them at the centre stage of your development!
