About April Goss
April Goss is a London based Soprano.
At the age of 11 she began her classical training under the tutelage of soprano Arlene Randazzo.
From a young age, April won numerous firsts at Music Festivals and won Stratford & East London Junior Musician of the year 2009 and 2013. In 2009 she was also awarded The Isabel Wilson Memorial prize for a young singer of exceptional promise.
In 2011 April was accepted into the Junior programme at Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she trained under the tutelage of Marilyn Rees until 2013.
In 2018 April had been awarded a Bachelor of Music with Honours degree from The Royal Academy of Music. During her time at The Royal Academy of Music, April had been under the tutelage of Catherine Benson. Through being accepted into the undergraduate course she was awarded the Stanley Wise Music Award from The Worshipful Company of Bakers.
During her time at the Academy April had participated in many opera courses including: Isabella Radcliffe’s Italian Opera Summer School; Melofonetica; A.I.M.S (International Summer School) and a British Youth Opera Workshop. Through these courses she had portrayed roles of; Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) Despina (Così fan tutte) Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Nannetta (Falstaff), Louisa (Betrothal In A Monastery) Lucy Lockit (The Beggars Opera), Yum-Yum (The Mikado) and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel).
In 2018 April had also been awarded The Countess of Munster Musical Trust Derek Butler Award.
In 2021 April joined the cast of Brent Opera, portraying the role of Bessie Throckmorton in Edward German's opera Merrie England. Then in 2022 she joined the cast of Imperial Productions as Carrie Pipperidge in their summer production of Carousel.
April also held a position as Music Teacher with Pelican Music. Here she was able to impart her years worth of knowledge and training in the performing arts to the next generation of musicians. April now holds position of Teaching Assistant at a local primary school.
Following completion of her undergraduate and postgraduate course April is currently continuing her training under the tutelage of Teresa Cahill. She is also considering a course in an opera school which will help her to pursue her passion for a career as a professional opera singer.
