Hello beginner or improving singers, although Bedford based now I taught privately in London for over 14 years. I adore teaching all ages & levels with focus on breathing technique, pitch placement, interpretation and tone as well as projection and performance. Most of all I want to build your confidence as a singer by learning songs YOU want to sing. I can accompany you on piano or guitar depending on the song.

In terms of structure the first lesson would usually start with an aural awareness exercise (depending on experience level) while we have cup of tea, then onto a a physical warm-up, breathing exercises and diaphragm work, vocal exercises using the piano and scales as well as a little theory. The rest of the time is devoted to learning a song from scratch, breaking it down
and putting our own interpretation on it. I find most my students prefer to learn by ear and by me drawing diagrams on the lyrics sheets to help then understand. The first lesson is normally 15 minutes longer, at no extra charge, so we can get to know each other and relax a little before we begin.

I’m very patient and personable and teach from a designated music room in my home in central Bedford. I’m a professional singer, musician, actor and voice over artist and have performed in and managed bands for the past 20 years. I’ve also done backing vocals for established acts and am a multi-instrumentalist.
