Ever thought about playing the saxophone?
You are not alone, many people want to start playing the saxophone but don’t know where to start! If you are new to the saxophone Andrew can help you from the very start; from picking and choosing the right instrument, to providing a structured bespoke lesson plan for you. Targeted, focused practice is the answer. Andrew works with his students closely to maximise their practice time and potential, always keeping in mind individuals goals.
Is the saxophone the right instrument for you? Is it difficult to play?
Within the first lesson Andrew will have you making a sound, and teach you everything you need to go home and feel confident about putting together and playing your saxophone. Then it’s up to you! With quality lessons, and you guessed it, practice, practice, practice, you will be playing along to your favourite tunes. Most people find they can play the saxophone quickly, but of course it takes a lot of work to get yourself to a decent level, this is true of any instrument. But you’ll have fun learning the saxophone that’s for sure.
Andrew's students range from around 8 to 80 years old, so it’s never to early or late to start.
Effective Teaching is vital when learning the saxophone.
As a student you need a saxophone teacher that offers structure, solid practice methods, a focus on understanding of your current level and future goals, and empathy to personal circumstances. We are all different, so Andrew works hard to make your learning a fun and enjoyable experience.
One to one lessons are essential to good development and effective learning. Sure, you can watch a million online tutorials on playing the saxophone, but ultimately without the feedback from a teacher you will only pick up bad habits and find yourself going nowhere fast!
Beginners very welcome, if you are feeling nervous or unsure about playing the saxophone, now is the time to learn! Friendly and relaxed environment.
Andrew also gigs regularly with various professional bands, including his own band The Boogie Bumpers, so my teaching comes from real world experience as well as a solid pedagogy.
Please get in touch with Andrew to discuss the start or continuation of your saxophone journey.
