About Amy

Are you looking to start learning a new instrument? Or looking to develop your skills? Look no further, Amy is an experienced professional musician based in Northwest London. With over 15 years’ experience as a performer and teacher, she aims to make music fun and accessible to all.

Believing music is within everyone, the first few lessons with Amy will be spent getting to know one another, the instrument and working out what you aim to achieve through your lessons. That might be to have more confidence when performing, developing tone and technique, or working towards the next exam. Amy's laid-back approach encourages you to take ownership of your musical journey.

From the very first lesson Amy will work with you to develop the basics such as a good practice routine, good posture, the importance of warming up, cooling down and technical exercises. Music theory and aural training is naturally woven into lessons ensuring you become the best musician you can be.

Lockdown saw Amy take her teaching online and she now teaches a hybrid method of both in person and online. Giving you the flexibility to decide what works better for your learning style and availability.

Currently a saxophonist within the Band of the Grenadier Guards, Amy brings a wealth of performance experience from playing solos to performing as part of the massed bands at large National events. Prior to joining the Army, Amy worked as a teaching assistant, giving her a good understanding of teaching, and supporting children with additional needs. Skills learnt during my time as a TA and as a professional musician translate into her teaching methods.

Amy has spaces for both adult and young musicians on the following instruments.

Saxophone (beginner to advanced)
Piano (beginner to grade 5)
Music Theory (up to grade 5)
