I believe in engaging piano lessons tailored to individual learning styles and goals. To this end, I often arrange music requested by students to ensure they are playing music they love that matches their ability.

I love to teach a range of musical genres such as classical, pop, jazz, film music, musical theatre and even computer game theme tunes! I also teach both how to read musical notation as well as chord theory, and if the student so wishes, accompanying their singing.

I have taught a wide range of abilities, from beginners to Grade 8 standard. I have prepared students for ABRSM exams and different exam boards such as Rock School, but also offer exams within the lesson for younger students where this is more appropriate.

I have worked with all ages from 3 years old to 73 years - age is not a problem! My main goal is that my students enjoy their lessons and fall in love with listening to and playing music.

I trained as a jazz pianist at university after completing Grade 8 ABRSM classical piano, and also have just finished working as a Music Director, training musicians of varying standards and leading worship songs at church in a band. I have also played keyboard and sung in jazz bands, soul bands, and recorded for local recording artists.
