About Alexander
Hi there! I’m Alex, a professional musician and performer who graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2023, where I trained in Musical Theatre with a strong focus on both singing and instrumental performance. With a background in clarinet and singing, offering engaging and personalized lessons tailored to your goals. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, my approach is to create a fun, structured, and expressive learning experience.
About Me:
My professional experience includes working in the industry as a singer, actor, and musician, and I’ve even performed clarinet in Paris!
I’ve been teaching students of all levels, from beginners to advanced musicians, for over a year now, and my passion lies in helping each student find their unique musical voice.
My Teaching Approach:
I believe in flexibility when it comes to learning. No two students are the same, so I tailor my lessons to suit your individual needs, ensuring we cover the fundamental techniques, musicality, and expressive elements that will help you progress confidently. I will also tutor music theory throughout the lessons as applicable to each students progress.
For Singing:
I specialise in Musical Theatre with a strong foundation in classical technique (from years of training in a church choir).
I focus on technique, vocal health and bringing character to your performance.
I will help you find repertoire - tailored to auditions, performances, or just for fun!
I also offer guidance on applying to drama school, including help with repertoire, monologues, and acting coaching.
For Clarinet:
My lessons are structured around graded exams (ABRSM, Trinity, etc.), with added emphasis on improvisation, composition, and musical exploration for a well-rounded understanding.
I'll provide a balance of technical exercises, sight-reading, and performance skills to build confidence.
If graded exams aren’t for you, we can focus on an alternative learning path suited to your goals.
For Piano:
My lessons centre on building strong fundamentals- tailored to your goals, with a flexible approach that supports both exam-focused and more exploratory learning.
I offer structured guidance through graded material (ABRSM, Trinity, etc.) alongside...
