Alex has been a pleasure to work with. As an adult learner who had previously studied classical piano for many years, I wanted someone that would tailor the lessons to suit where i wanted to take things. Alex does that really well - he is happy to structure the lessons himself, but also doesn't 'get in the way' of your progress by forcing you down a particular path. The lessons are also fun and as well as being a great musician, he's a thoroughly nice guy!

Our daughter looks forward to her lessons with Alex all week - she's learning to play multiple instruments, along with music theory and song structure, as well as valuable skills such as concentration and dedicated practice. All while having a great time every week.

Starting piano lessons with Alex was one of the best decisions I’ve made in recent years, having played with the idea of starting to learn but never following through with it. His laid back approach to teaching has allowed me to learn how I want and choose where to go next, whilst having fun doing it. Every 60 minute session I’ve had has felt more like hanging out with a close friend, rather than a stranger - and I’ve enjoyed every second since… I couldn’t recommend him enough!

Alex is a teacher with a passion for music that shines through. Though we had originally signed up for piano lessons for our 7 year old daughter, Alex has taken a very child led approach and is now teaching her both piano and guitar. Our daughter loves the fun and variety in her lessons and is growing more and more confident in her ability as a future musician!

Alex is an incredible piano teacher. His passion for music is infectious. He has been teaching our 11 year old daughter since the beginning of the year and has never been anything but happy, welcoming, calm, kind and patient. She responds so well to his teaching style and wouldn't choose any other teacher! He uses positive encouragement to build her confidence but also gives detailed feedback to support her growth. I would highly recommend Alex and if you ever get to hear him play….wow!!

Alex is an absolutely brilliant teacher. He cares very much for his students and is able to convey complex issues in a very easy to understand manner. Every lesson is a joy and his enthusiasm carries over through my ipad. If you really want to learn to play piano he is the one.

It's not possible to rate Alex highly enough. He is a profoundly talented jazz musician in his own right. And his professional pedagogy as an empathetic and creative teacher was shown through his willingness and skill in transposing ‘pop’ and ‘rock’ songs that my teenage son wanted to play and sing on the piano. His online lockdown lessons were also excellent. It was great to see both my children develop their own relationship with Alex, and develop skills that were not parent driven.
