About Agata
Born in Poland, Agata started her violin education at the age of 6. She completed her BMus at London College of Music with First Class Honours in 2011 and PgDip with Distinction in 2014. She also holds a PhD for her research on creativity in string players. She is a published academic currently employed at the University of West London. Agata has toured Europe and Asia with Avizo String Quartet, I Maestri Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra of India. She performs regularly as a soloist and also as a part of different classical, jazz, pop, folk, rock and metal groups . She has 15+ years teaching experience including university level teaching. Agata can teach acoustic/electric violin in any style to any level pupils. She has experience teaching students from the age of 4 - 70 and she is comfortable teaching ‘by ear’ as well as within the established western notation. A strong advocate for starting to learn at any age and any style, Agata also has extensive experience in teaching students with disabilities and neurodiversity.
Agata mainly teaches at her home studio in South Harrow but lessons online and at the students home are also available. The recommended length of a lesson for a beginner up to the age of 8 is 30min, above that age 45min or 1 hour is more appropriate.
