About Adam

Adam is an Australian born, RNCM graduate who has more than 9 years experience in teaching brass instruments to people of all ages. He has a Masters in Music from the University of Salford, where he is currently the Euphonium and Baritone tutor. As well as being an experienced teacher, Adam is also a performing musician who plays at the highest level. He is the Solo Euphonium player of the world-famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band, and also a signed artist and consultant of Besson Euphoniums.

As a teacher, Adam has a huge amount of experience teaching a variety of brass instruments to a range of ages (5-72) and abilities. Abilities and ages range from teaching beginners and new players at the Stockport Schools' Brass Band, GCSE and A-Level students, and then university/conservatoire and professional level players. Adam takes great pride in tailoring his pedagogy to achieve the best outcomes with his students. Discovering methodologies that suit a particular player can be pivotal in their development, and so Adam spends a great deal of time researching old and new teachings to best achieve these results.
Adam is an experienced performer in many mediums and as such, has the tools to make you a better sight-reader, brass band player, wind band player, and soloist. Whether it is developing your range, building a solid fundamental technique, or producing an amazing tone, Adam has the skills, resources, and patience to make this a reality.
