He has prepared students for ABRSM & Trinity exams, A Level & GCSE examination, auditions for University & Conservatoire courses as well as helping students with their ensemble playing, exploring improvisation and discovering new genres of music.
A typical lesson would include a brief tone-building warm up, exercises to improve your ability on the instrument and the learning of new musical pieces. Notes and comments are taken throughout the lesson and will be given to you via Music Tutors for your continued practice.
Areas we will focus on:
- Warming up
- Developing tone
- Expression
- Rhythm
- Sight reading musical notation
- Understanding musical theory
- Developing great posture and technique
- Playing the music you love!
Beginners
Ideally beginners should have their own instrument. But don’t worry, Aaron can provide a hire instrument on a temporary basis at a small additional fee or even teach you a thing or two without the trumpet! Nothing else is needed - There are no expectations of ability or prior musical knowledge. Aaron has plenty of resources to get you started on your musical journey. These will be made available through this site. As you progress, workbooks and other pieces can be explored after consideration between Aaron and the student.
