Recruitment Process - Enhanced DBS Certificate, AccessNI Certificate and PVG Scheme Application Guide
We require all teachers residing in England or Wales to provide a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate that includes Child Workforce checks and is dated within the last 12 months. If your certificate is older than 12 months, it must be registered on the Update Service for us to accept it, and we must also have sight of the actual certificate.
In all cases you must be able to show us the actual certificate. A screenshot of your Update Service account summary page is not acceptable. This is because the actual certificate is the only place that shows which checks were conducted as part of the disclosure process, and even if you do not intend to teach under 18s, you must still be cleared to work with children.

The cost of this process will be £54.00 (including VAT). This fee goes directly to Personnel Checks, and we do not make any money from the process.
During the application process for an Enhanced DBS you will be asked to provide ID documentation. Details of what is required can be viewed during the application process. You will also be required to submit ID documentation in a separate process directly to MusicTeachers.co.uk via your Dashboard in your teacher account.
Once you have received the certificate, please upload a clear scan or photo of the entire 1st page using the box on your dashboard after logging into your MusicTeachers.co.uk account. If you need assistance with any part of this process please contact us at [email protected]

Recruitment Process - PVG Scheme Application (for teachers residing in Scotland)

Applicants who reside in Scotland will require one of two new documents:
- Enhanced PVG Scheme Membership (if they are not currently a member of the Enhanced PVG Scheme)
- Scheme Record Update (if they are already a member of the Enhanced PVG Scheme)
Either route must be taken via our service provider. We cannot accept pre-existing PVG documents from applicants because they will not show us as an organisation with which the applicant works, and therefore we will not be informed of any changes to the applicant’s disclosure status.

- Present to us an Enhanced AccessNI Scheme certificate that includes the child workforce checks and is dated within the last 6 months
You should upload a clear scan or photo of the entire 1st page using the box on your dashboard after logging into your MusicTeachers.co.uk account.
