Starting from January 1st 2021, we’ve calculated the total number of hours you’ve taught through the platform. As your student list grows and you teach more lessons, so will the number of hours taught in your total.

 

Once your total passes a marker, you’ll automatically be moved to the next level of membership with us. Blocks of lessons, Group lessons and Offers all count towards your membership level.

FAQs

 

How do I see what Membership level I’m on? Log in to your account, your membership is displayed on your dashboard and also in the My Account section of your profile. You can see your total number of hours taught, your current level and how many more hours you’ve got to go until you reach the next level.

 

Will group lessons count towards my membership level? Yes. Just as in solo lessons, every hour of groups teachering counts towards your membership level. Note that we base the calculations on your teaching hours and not on student hours. For example, where you teach an ensemble class with 6 participents for 60 minutes, one hour will be added to your membership level.

 

Will 'Offer' lessons count towards my membership level? Yes. Lessons delivered as part of an Offer will count towards your membership level in just the same way as a solo lesson will. 

 

When do the calculations start from? We’re proud of the decision we made to start the calculations from the first of January 2021. We chose this to pay some respect to the extraordinarily difficult time we as musicians have been through.

 

What happens to lessons I’ve already booked in the system? From the time you are upgraded, all future lessons will be processed at your new level. That includes lessons that you’ve booked previously, but not taught yet.

 

Will this affect the price students see? No, student prices will not be affected. Instead, the percentage of the price the student pays which would usually come to the website as a platform fee is reduced, meaning less commission for us and more fees for you.

 

Will my students see what level I am? No, your membership level is shown only to you. It is not part of the public part of the platform.

 

Will my membership level go down? No. This is a feature designed to show gratitude. Membership levels are designed to only go up!

 

Will the total hour of lessons be reset at the end of the year? No. With a start date of 1st January 2021, the total number of lessons taught will be an all-time calculation and will not be reset at the end of the year.
