The major scale is one of the most important scales in all genres of music so it's important that we understand how to play it as well as the theory behind how it works.
The major scale consists of the following intervals:
1-2-3-4-5-6-7.
So in C major the notes would be: C- D- E- F - G- A- B and then the scale repeats an octave higher.
In the diagram below, we can see the notes of the major scale in all twelve keys with their interval above. See if you can play all twelve on your instrument and really try to become familiar with their sound.
